A solo path shaped through bands, records, and reinvention.

Gil Porsansky is a musician, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose main instruments are electric guitar and electric bass. He was based in Tel Aviv until 2025, before relocating to Portugal, and his work reflects years of writing, recording, producing, and shaping songs as a largely self-directed artist. His music moves across funk rock, blues, metal, punk rock, experimental music, and touches of hip hop.

He first started making music in high school in Israel, playing in punk and metal bands with friends. What began with singing in heavier bands later developed into a broader solo path as both guitarist and vocalist. In 2014, at the age of 25, he released his first full-length album, The Frog, which was originally issued under the artist name Frog With Red Eyes as a self-titled release.

After a second album under the Frog With Red Eyes name, he chose to leave that project identity behind and release the music under his own name, reflecting the fact that the work had already become deeply personal and essentially solo. While the first album included session musicians on drums and bass, every release after that was created entirely by Porsansky himself, including the instruments, production, mixing, and mastering. Under his own name he has released three albums, followed by one additional album under the project name The Real Fish: There Is Only One Fish, his latest full-length release. He had also begun work on a fourth solo album as Gil Porsansky, and two singles from that body of work have already been released: Back In The Castle and Castle Vibes. The larger album process was interrupted by the move to Portugal and other major life events, but the plan remains very much alive and the record is still intended to be completed.
